My Family has been staying at the American Inn for over 25 years but after this past weekend We won't be going back again.It's not the same place anymore.Theu had a microwave mounted under the cabinet that didn't work and a smaller one sitting on too of the refrigerator. There was a wall receptacle mounted almost side ways by the bathroom Almost every lounge chair on the roof was old and beat up and falling part The overall condition of the place was just less than what it's been in years past.There was a man who was a retired State Policeman A few years back who ran it and the place was always kept beautiful I was very disappointed and honestly You can find nicer places for the same price

Very nice place. We will stay here moving forward. Rooms were very clean and anything we needed, we got!

I have been staying at this motel since 2009. I have a family of 5, so I always rent the family suite Room A with ocean view. This year I had a very unpleasant experience. My room for the first time was located right in front of the SUNDECK. Oh dear, big mistake!!! There is a big sign that states closing hours for this section is at 11:00 pm. On Friday night we couldn't get any sleep. We had drunk people partying around, making jokes, playing loud music, couples fighting etc right at the sundeck, I'm talking about older people, not teens. There is no staff overnight to enforce the rules. The next morning I complained and request to at least have the table with seats that was place right in front of my door to be moved a little away from it. Nobody cared, nothing was done. Also the air conditioner only works in the room and at night when the room door needs to stay closed for privacy, the livingroom will get so hot. If you decide to stay here, request ypur room away from overnight party zone (sundeck). Also, bring a fan!!! Good luck

Not the best not the worst...pool closed at 8? rooms need updated but very clean..Great beach n boardwalk access...6/10

First time here, and I will say I liked the location. Up until we found out the only working AC was in the bedroom, which I will say worked it's motor off trying to cool the entire place. Room was clean, no musty smell, fridge was clean, did have a very small bathroom, with only enough towels for two people(but only one washcloth). The in room phone didn't work, and there was no hot water from the bathtub, bathroom or kitchen sinks. Pool was nice, and staff were friendly and accommodating. Located 100 yards from the beach and ocean, and a block north of the boardwalk. The price for location was somewhat worth it. Even though I gave it 3 stars, I would stay here again, and actually am planning the next trip. But I will hope the next visit to this location, is even better than the last.

My family of 5 just stayed here for the first time from 9/25/23-9/30/23 and we had a great experience! I stayed at the same place since the 80s and this year, that place implemented some policies regarding additional deposits on top of the cost of the room that were ludicrous so we decided to stay elsewhere, that being The American Inn. The room was super clean, the staff was really nice and helpful, and the maid service was great! The pool is heated so even though the weather didn't cooperate, it was nice that we were still able to swim in the motel pool! The location is fantastic and we absolutely loved the sun deck!! You've gained new annual customers as we will definitely be staying here again!!!

Nice location however it is starting to fall into disrepair. Hopefully new owners will put some money into it. Should also make it a non smoking environment. Had to wade through crowds of smokers upon entering and exiting daily. SMELLY AND GROSS??

If you’ve been going here the same week for the past 50 years you will like it because it is exactly the same as the first time you stayed. It may even have the same towels on the rack. It’s charming in a way, but once was enough. The regulars love it but if you’re not one of them, you’ll probably wonder what the attraction is. One extra star because the pool was perfect temp and water was amazing!

A family place, clean, close to the beach & boardwalk, friendly staff too. My husband & I took our Grandchildren 5 & 2yrs, we all had a great time. The day we returned home we recieved an email letting us know my husband left his license & they mailed it back quickly. Thanks again, will definitely return
