Mango Motel receives overwhelmingly negative reviews, citing issues with cleanliness, uncomfortable rooms, and unresponsive management. While some guests appreciated the location and friendly staff in a few instances, persistent problems with infestations, unsafe conditions, and billing errors dominate the feedback. Prospective guests should be aware of significant concerns before booking.
Walked into the front office when we checked in and the woman working barely greeted us - she looked annoyed as if she was confused as to why we came in? She proceeded to tell us she has to charge us an extra $20 because we have 3 people instead of 2. I’ve never had a hotel do this when there are 2 queen beds in the room - Preposterous!! She was pretty rude about it too. The room was quite dingy and filled with ants. The room door looked like it had prior damage and barely closed. The door in the bathroom was all chipped and looked like there may have been flooding. Oh, to top it off the smoke detector randomly fell off the wall and it had no batteries which is an extreme safety hazard. If there was a fire we’d probably die. Lastly, it looks like they went to the Dollar Tree and got bath mats and cut them in half and stuck them in the showers to save money. They didn’t even do a good cutting job.. The man at the front desk (Ghandi) was friendly but the other woman was far from it. If you’re going to work in hospitality atleast have some manners and be pleasant. There are plenty of better options in Wildwood; we will not be returning.
I got to Wild Woods Beach late at night and no other hotel would answer or respond. The manager at Mango was the only one who was super receptive, friendly, and accommodating. He got us a room in less than 10 minutes. He answers your calls and the room gave us everything we needed. Comfortable beds, microwave in room, and a spacious bathroom!
Overall good experience. We stayed there in 2025, the staff was super friendly and gave us a corner room tucked away from the street. The rooms were nice for the price, a little dated but good enough. Great location, just a short walk from the boardwalk. I would stay there again.
Absolutely disgusting motel. Went to lock the door and noticed that it must of been kicked in at one time. The door jam was missing. (See pictures) Mold in the bathroom. Outlets was burnt. Walls have holes in them.
Walked into the room there was no heat. and not a comforter on the bed outside it was freezing inside in the middle of winter we asked to get our money back, she refused. would not recommend
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Mango Motel. I attempted to make a reservation through their website, but the process never completed properly—there was no confirmation email and nothing displayed on their webpage to indicate the booking was successful. Assuming the site was down, I made alternate arrangements at another hotel in Wildwood. On the day of my trip, I received a call from Mango Motel saying I hadn’t checked in. I explained the situation and that I was unaware the reservation had gone through. Despite this, they charged my credit card $567.97 for a room I never used. I asked them to reverse the charge since it was unauthorized, but they refused and showed no concern for customer satisfaction. This is unacceptable business practice. Charging customers without confirmation and then refusing to resolve the issue is unethical. I strongly encourage anyone to avoid staying at this establishment.
Was just there, 11/29/2025. WHAT A DUMP!! We booked a king room, got put in a twin queen room with a window in the bathroom that didn’t close all the way, dirty and damaged walls etc…was put into a King bedroom but it had no heat, zero, was put into another twin supposedly queen bed room, the beds are not queen size, the windows are old louvre type and barely close properly, door moldings damaged and leaking light and air, door knob looks like it was beat with a hammer. Last may they were renovating but it doesn’t look like it. All in all, NEVER again! Zero stars. The only thing it had was close proximity to our favorite restaurant.
We stayed here a week ago for just one night. We stayed on the bottom floor right in front of the pool. The room was extremely clean and the beds were VERY comfortable! The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. It had a mid sized refrigerator, stove top, microwave, coffee maker, cabinets, and some silverware, pots, etc. The bathroom was decent, BUT smelled very moldy, no proper ventilation. The room itself smelled pretty musty, but putting the window air conditioner on helped a bit. Stay was comfortable, and we paid off season rates, so it was good. However, if you are sensitive to musty smells, this may not be the place for you. To note, smoking is allowed right outside your room.
We checked in to the most nastiest and dirtiest room we have ever seen! The pictures are very deceitful! The room had ants, spider webs and sand in every corner. Mold in the bathroom floor. Hair all over the tub. Toilet rims were black. My daughter feet were black from just walking around the room for a minute. The remote had food or candy all over it. We requested to please be moved. We were moved to another room that was just as filthy. The best part was when we walked into the bathroom and seen Pubic hair in the tub and the owner said " no it's just a crack" proceeds to touch it to then have public hair on his fingers!! At that point he said ok we will cancel reservation with refund with Expedia. We check out, contact Expedia and owners lied and denied our refund. It's a shame that this business would be so foul. They also own BelAir and that's very run down. Avoid these places they are rude and scammers. Hope this review can save someone from such a disappointment or loss of hard worked money.
I was staying in Wildwood Crest for most of my vacation and decided to stay another night. I called Mango and spoke with the owner. He stated he had just purchased two years prior. He was so kind and helpful and rented me a room with an early check in. When I arrived he showed me multiple rooms he had available that I could stay in. The rooms are quaint, clean and comfortable. It was very clean. I had a second vehicle and the room only comes with one parking spot (narrow parking spots).I was able to purchase another spot for our other vehicle for $20.00 as the motel owns the parking lot across the street. I will definitely stay here again for my entire vacation.
