The Key West Motel offers a convenient location near the boardwalk and beach, with a focus on affordability and free parking. However, recent reviews highlight significant cleanliness and service issues, particularly regarding room conditions and staff interactions. Some guests have experienced bugs, dirty linens, and unprofessional behavior, impacting their overall experience.
The room was small but big enough to handle a family of 4. The room was clean and there were no issues checking in or out. HOWEVER, be aware there is an open air nightclub directly across the street. The only bad part of our stay was the bass boom boom BOOM until 2 am. Other than that we enjoyed our stay 2 blocks away from the boardwalk. There is a shower outback for when you are done with the beach.
I would say if you going to wildwood and you are going to stay in a hotel do Not stay in this hotel. I will give 0 to 0. Is dirty and has bugs. It was very uncomfortable the stay. The bugs were everywhere in the walls, floors, beds. It was bad.
My top requirements are CLEANLINESS, location, & free parking, which were all met. Rooms are small, but beds & bedding are WONDERFUL, & I just want a CLEAN safe place to sleep, close to everything.
I am here for Memorial Day and I had the pleasure of meeting Ms.Toni and she was very helpful and informative. She is definitely an asset to your establishment. Rooms were clean and fresh. I will definitely stay here again. Already recommended it to my family.
This is long but 100% worth the read. My sister and I booked this place a couple months prior. We noticed the requirement that all guests have to be 22. So my sister messaged the owner, Rodger, twice to confirm that both of us are not 22. He replied both times with saying that it was fine we were not 22. We get there to check in the woman at the front desk was questioning us about being under 22. We proceeded to show her the messages between my sister and Rodger and she said that we didn’t specify that one of us is 17. However, Rodger did not ask and did not seem to care. Why would we come somewhere 6 hours from our hometown to risk not having a place to stay…? The woman at the desk called Rodger, figured it out and asked for our IDs. We gladly handed them to her and she looked at us and said, “so you guys aren’t actually sisters, right?” We replied with “yes, we are” She questioned us and said “Well you guys have different last names so.” I said to her, “yes, because we have different fathers.” She then shook her head and proceeded to check us in. From the behavior we received from her, we did not feel welcomed and felt disrespected. Completely unprofessional. We get into the room and just do a quick look around.. here is a list of things we noticed right away: We found a bug in the drawer. We found a hair in the fridge. All of the furniture was really dusty. The room smelled. There was a mark on our bed sheets. The AC unit was very loud-hard to fall asleep with on if you have trouble falling asleep. The linings of the doors were so dusty. The bathroom cabinet was filthy. The toilet was horrendous. The inside of the drawers smelled old. With that being said, we didn’t even want to put our clothes away inside of them because we knew the would just smell from being in there. So we had to stack all of our clothes on the small table that was next to our bed. The mini fridge only got cold in some areas. The people who come to clean your rooms don’t even clean. They just give you 2 new towels each time and toilet paper if you ran out. They skipped our room for 2 days (yes our sign on the door was up telling them it was time to “make up” our room) we had to walk over to the Quebec hotel that is connected to the key west and had to do a towel exchange. When they gave us the new towels we looked at them and there were black and brown marks on them. I could be wrong about this.. I have no idea but I honestly believe they didn’t even change our bedsheets. The hot water took forever to kick on in the shower and when it did it was hard to keep it at that temperature. There were chips/holes in the bathroom and missing tile from the wall. You are given a parking permit to hang up in your car and permitted to park in certain areas. We drove around for 10 minutes (more than once) to try and find a parking spot that they allowed for you to park in. The parking lots are so small.. not good for wider cars. The people were never at the front desk. We only saw someone there about 2-3 times of being there for a whole 7 days. It’s like they leave you to run the hotel yourself.. Moral of the story.. I wouldn’t stay here. Yes it’s nice and close to the boardwalk but not worth spending on. People aren’t nice and rooms are dirty.
Perfect spot for a little get away. Rooms were really clean. Less than a block from the boardwalk. Employees were friendly. Room was on the smaller side, but who spends their time in the room anyway? Will definitely be back!
This stay was definitely something else. Me and 2 brothers, mother, and my mom’s boyfriend stayed in a room together. The bed that me and my brother stayed on (bunk bed) was terrible. It had no support and the smallest movements on the bed made the whole entire thing move. There were screws falling out of the bed as well. The fire alarm went off 3 times during my 4 night stay. The closet also smelt like mildew and stunk the whole room. The shower had some mold in it too. There is also no place to fill up your water. The sink and toilet had slow draining, and there are no washer and dryer anywhere. The only place to dry clothes is in the closet that smells like mildew (it will make your clothes stink. I made the mistake of putting it in there.) and the room cost $1,032 for 4 nights. That’s crazy. Personally I would not come back here again. I see some people had great experiences but I did not. Do better.
The rooms are better than the pictures online, which are outdated. We loved our stay! Great location. A short block from the boardwalk. A nice diner next door. The room was pleasant and so was the price. Free parking for guests.
Stayed at the Key West Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights this August and it was just what I was looking for. I was aware before arriving that the cost was not overly expensive and that my expectations should be realistic. My girlfriend and I were warmly received by Michelle at the front desk, who was nothing less than extremely courteous and helpful. There is parking right on site (1 car pass per room). The location of the hotel could not be better if you are looking to enjoy the beach and boardwalk. Literally, 1 block away, 2 minutes! The room was nice and air conditioned with a fridge (small freezer inside), television, bathroom with shower and clean towels. There is an ice machine on the floor that is free and accessible at any time. I would advise looking at the pictures of the location and be realistic about what you are paying and not to be unrealistic. This place is a bargain and for me it was all about location location location and the gracious and helpful Michelle at the front desk. The Key West also does not have a pool, but they have other hotels right next door that do. So, if a pool is something you need, I recommend you ask which one of their hotels have a pool and stay there.
