I just came home today from my stay I was there from Friday till Tuesday.the room was great no issues with it . All we met was nice people to hang out with. The price was great for the location. I have found my go to motel going foward. Next time I come please let me have room 207 lol.

We always have a great time at the Golden Rail! The staff and owners are wonderful. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced. We've been staying there for years. Wonderful place!

The golden rail is definitely in a bit of a transitional moment, but it was not disappointing! The rails have been replaced, all brand new! No longer golden lol. Doors are a soft beachy blue. The pull out couch was BRAND NEW. I will literally sleep on whatever quality bed were given, but this place has definitely put some money to their guests sleep experience. Beds were also comfy! Clean! Love the bathroom. Vintage tile and porcelain/ceramic tub. Hot water ENDLESS. I bet they will update it more as I said i think they are in a transitional moment lol. Theres a huge window that opens to a screen and its sooooooo nice to catch that beach breeze. Some nights were fine with just the windows open and no AC. Which the AC unit looked BRAND NEW as well. The pool is AWESOME 8 feet deep! Not being open til 10am is kinda bummer. You also get access to their sister hotel across the street and they have water slides that are AWESOME AND FAST. Cons: There was a hole in the wall of the bedroom about the size of a dollar bill, maybe smaller. The bedroom door needed a dusting as well as the vent from bedroom to living room needed a decent cleaning. The shower curtain rod was beyond being on its last leg. The fridge was nice and cold. Room 308 is a good one. Thanks for having us.

This is my 4th time coming here and I know some of the reviews say it's outdated which is but I knew that from the past. It's a great location and everything was ok for me. The young girl check is in early which was really nice. They are renovating the rooms and it's been under new management. The are affiliated with Montego.

Been going there for 40 years. Last year was the last. rooms filthy. pool dirty. new owners and front office staff is terrible

We have been coming to the GRM for decades and decided to return after a few years off. The motel was definitely better cared for with Rocco and his wife. We originally were placed in room 201, but it was falling apart and not getting cold even with the ac running. So we requested to move rooms and they were more than accommodating! Super helpful. Room 201 is not recommended- it needs some major repairs. The location is great and it’s quiet. And admission to the Montego Bay water park was a nice perk. The room, furniture and linens were not as clean as you’d expect them to be at paying $219 a night, though. The outside remodel looks fabulous! We loved the new rails, door colors. We just wish the condition of the rooms reflected the upgrades on the outside. I don’t know that we will be back under the current owners.

We’ve been coming here for the past 4 years, the new owners have always been respectful and easy to talk to. Every year they are making improvements and we have never had any negative issues. We’ve tried multiple places over the years and never went back. Golden Rail has become our home away from home

Hello readers. So me and my wife drove 18hrs from Tampa Florida,and by the time we got to this dump of a place I can't even call this a hotel. It brought my wife to tears, we've been coming to this hotel since 1985. I see prison cells from watching TV nicer. There was black spots on the box spring from bed bug the A/C broken they had rip blankets on the bed and there was bugs running around. also the bathroom look like a auto repair shops bathroom. And on top of trying to get our money back for a refund you got the runaround. They have no customer service whatsoever we miss the old owners it was like our family. Rocco was amazing.

I've been going there since 1984 as a kid with my family, Rocco was amazing. He didn't always have things repaired correctly but it was always spotless, pool cleaned daily. 1st trip this year went ehhh, not really the cleanest, room wasn't cleaned all week, had to ask for towels, we fold them on a pile for the maid to easily clean up, pile. We gave it a second chance We did have a newly remodeled room our second trip this year which was nice, same issue w towels, AC unit was dirty, I cleaned the filter. We had issues getting around the pool due to what seemed to be people showing up, not staying there. We had a third trip planned for Sept 8 weekend with family but unfortunately we had a sudden death in the family. The weekend was paid in full, I asked if there would be any reimbursement, we'll look into that, you can book another weekend. A week goes by I call again, when I get back to the office I'll look into it, 7 days later another call made. Voicemail. No return call. So even if we wanted a weekend we can't reach anyone. It's been almost a month, no contact. Our family said the room was rented that weekend also. Double $$. No valid email either. I'm very sad the golden rail has gone this way, many other long standing families will not be back including our family of 18.

We have been coming here for the last 8yrs for our family vacation and never had an issue, but there are new owners. It's always been an outdated no frills place BUT it was always clean up until now. These new owners take no pride in the place. Last year they told us they were upgrading the place but other then a few rooms that didn't happen. The railings have all the paint chipping and a few rods are rotted out most just taped and spray painted but the one outside our room was exposed with all the rotting on the ground. Entering our room it didn't even look to be cleaned. Particles on the floor and sand still on the dining chairs. Ceiling fan had to also be dusted as there was so much dust i couldn't turn it on. That's not even the worse .... the beds!!! Omg!! Our one comforter had burn marks from smoking all over it. Pull that down and the bed linens were stained!!! The one pillow even had a blood stain on the actual pillow. I had to get all new linens and pillows. Thank goodness I also bring my own stuff to put over what they say were fresh sheets. Didn't stop there ... the towel were also stained ... granted only used them for my feet to get our shower but they don't know that. I had to return towels every time because of stains and they were not burnt from the dryer as the excuse the owner provided. Overall despite my complaints it continued throughout the trip. I even had to have the ac unit cleaned as the clean filter light was on and clearly never been dusted. Maids only came if u told them u wanted something done ... thats was never the case in the past. Also only seen pool cleaned 1x my whole visit and barely a decent job. TERRIBLE. In talking with others that have stayed there for the last several years they also experienced the same issues. Something needs to change. Doesn't look like we will be returning and my kids are sad ... its all they know at the shore. Shame on the new owners
