The Brittany Motel receives generally positive feedback, particularly regarding its location and friendly staff. Recent reviews highlight improvements to the rooms and a welcoming atmosphere, with several guests praising the owners and attentive service. However, concerns persist regarding cleanliness issues, particularly mold and mildew, and inconsistent amenities. Newer reviews also mention issues with the AC system.
They keep the property clean for the most part. Beds was extremely uncomfortable and small. Not enough privacy on balcony it’s like we’re super close to one another. On Wednesday they have cookout food for guest that was good.
I'll start with the good news, The Front Desk staff was very friendly and welcoming at check in. I used to stay at this motel years ago but found another motel but I saw online the the Brittany was recently remodeled. This is only partly true. They did get new furniture and the beds were very comfortable. I have a few things I am disappointed with. My biggest complaint is it is supposed to be a NO SMOKING motel but the people in the room aside of us were smoking Marijuana all day and that stink came over into my room. I had to turn off the AC and keep the balcony door closed to keep out the smell which, really did not help and just made my room uncomfortable. Second, the bathroom had a new sink and toilet but the tub and wall need to be torn out and replaced. The shower head was clogged so only a few holes had water coming out so it was like taking a shower under a pressure washer which hurts when you get sunburn. The room door was very hard to open and there is only 1 chair in the room. The only place to sit down is on the bed. Honestly, I don't know if I'll return again or not. It's in a good location and the rates are good but the room needs alot of work!
I am truly truly truly enjoying my stay with my wife at this hotel. The entire staff are kind...courteous...pleasant...engaging and just some of the nicest folks one can encounter. We have become like family because of so much that we have in common. It began with the day I made reservations. I could tell them that this is where we needed to stay. The house keeping has been accommodating and patient. My wife and I are organized and clean but are truly pleased with the added layer they provide. God willing ...We will be back next year for an extended stay. One of the staff and I shared our fondness...love for wresting...so I leave with the moniker of Ric Flair...Wooooooo!!!
Good Day Everyone. If you are planning to come to the shore... anytime soon or considering next year's accomodations...I cannot encourage you more to stay at the Brittany Motel for an amazing experience. I am having an amazing time with my wife ...who is having an inexplicable time. The management and staff are some of the nicest... professional...engaging folks you will ever encounter. The accommodations are superb and the staff are just purely good for the vacationing spirit. My stay is not long enough. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. In the immortal words of Nature Boy Ric Flair...Wooooooooo!!!!
I had an excellent stay at this motel! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, but what really stood out was the service. Sophia at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. She was friendly, professional, and quick to help with anything I needed. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about guests the way she does. Thanks to her, my check-in and overall stay were smooth and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others!
BEWARE, READ, DON’T BOOK, YOU’LL REGRET IT. RUINED VACATION This was our FIRST and LAST TIME staying at The Brittany. The Brittany ruined our vacation and we spent an hour after checking in trying to get the MOLD off the AC vents. Before booking, we read the reviews and didn’t find anything that would make us not book. Now that we stayed, we feel like the reviews were VERY MISLEADING and don’t honestly represent the hotel. Stay: 8/16/25-8/19/25. Room 312 (started at room 107). The hotel can contact me if they want to discuss these issues and provide a partial refund. Was supposed to be $678.37 for room 107. We ended up paying a total of $899.94 for room 312. To pay almost $900 and have our room reek of mold, is absurd. We were told room 312 was a suite and should have been $425 a night during the summer, so they were giving us a “discount”. We realize this is their hotel and they need to defend it. However, when they pretend they aren’t aware of the room smelling like mold, and made us to feel like we are the problem. CONS: Rooms smell like MOLD, not clean, stained beds, mold in the shower, thick fur like dust on vents, black mildew on vents, what looked like poop on the floor. (See pictures) We booked a small hotel room 107. Upon checking in, we go to the room, and once we open the door a STRONG mildew smells hits us in the face. The light doesn’t work to look around the room. This is when we go to the front desk. They tell us they have only 1 room available as they are fully booked, but it is a suite and will cost us more. We pay the additional money and check in to our new room 312. There are 3 beds. Two of the beds are soooo dirty that I wouldn’t even sit on them. They have stains and hair on the sheets of the made bed. I don’t think they changed them. (See pics) I didn’t see any bed bugs which is why we stayed. The third bed was cleaner and we felt stuck since they were fully booked. It was either stay and deal with the room or go home after a 5 hour drive. After checking in we start seeing how DISGUSTING the room is. They use this hotel deodorizer spray that masks the mold smell. The AC vent has black thick mold on them, the other vent has thick fur like dust on it, there was a smear of what looked like fecal matter on the floor, the screen was ripped, the curtains were broken and hanging, there was a layer of dust on all the furniture, the toilet was dirty and chipped, the shower head leaked and dripped from the faucet (needs maintenance) the towels smelled like rubber and were very rough, broken toothbrush holder, the blankets in the closet were not clean and smelled dirty, there was hair on the floor. We didn’t even unpack as the place was so disgusting. We kept our luggage on the table to prevent anything from crawling in it. We tried to clean the mold for an hour after our check in, but it didn’t help. We ended up keeping the screen door open the entire stay because the mold smell was SO BAD. Which as you can imagine was very loud with The Point bar right across the street. Being centrally located is a good thing, but very noisy. This was supposed to be the “remodeled” room. I’m sorry, but putting gray paint on the walls does not make a room remodeled. The parking is horrible. Most of the spots are double, which means, if you block someone in, you have to leave your keys with the front desk. They do have a parking lot across the street which is overflow parking next to a huge pile of garbage. Supposed to be a smoke free hotel, but it isn’t. I saw two people smoking out near the pool, so this is not reinforced and it smells like pot. This hotel doesn’t have the usual amenities like tissues, alarm clock or a phone. The WIFI password listed in the room isn’t accurate so we couldn’t connect to WIFI. We tried to spend as little time in the hotel as possible. Their maintenance and housekeeping staff need TRAINING. PROS: The front desk gentleman was nice. The AC was very cool. The view from the room, I could see the ocean. The pool was clean and refreshing.
It pains me to even write this because the staff was more than kind and the location of the hotel in relation to the boardwalk and beach was good. However, unfortunately the hotel is so beyond dated it’s really unappealing. A few things I wished were different: wish there was more than just a top sheet on the bed, wish the bed wasn’t so incredibly hard, wish the ac wasn’t so noisy. Also, the temperature of the water in the shower would abruptly change from one extreme to the other. We stayed in the room they refer to as the breezeway and it was less than ideal. It was tucked into a corner where the maintenance closets were located. Very early in the morning we were woken up by staff conversations (although I don’t blame Them as they have a job to do) just wished that they just didn’t book that room then. It is definitely one of the cheaper motels in that area and now I know why. I guess I know now why it was cheaper in price compared to the other motels in the area. Also please note that even though it was “cheaper” than most—it still wasn’t cheap and it is a shame that it doesn’t seem as though the establishment puts much of their earnings back into it. The pool area was nice and they did have ample parking with an overflow lot across the street. Again, it really pains me to write this because the staff was so great but I would like to prevent someone else from feeling disappointed and underwhelmed upon arrival and throughout their stay.
Honestly this motel has an owner or manager who does not know anything about customer service. When my family checked in, we were told we were upgraded. Our room had no working AC for the first day. The maintenance man was in and out of our room for the entire day on Friday trying to fix it. We tried to be compensated for the distress this put me in as I have a condition that makes me overheat, especially in the summer. We were told they couldn't refund us more than $80 for a reservation that cost $862. DO NOT STAY HERE. It's not worth the hassle. There are better hotels in north wildwood and the Crest. The shower also was not working properly and they waited until the second to last day to fix it. Our bathroom had no towel rack, and the toilet seat was chipped. I feel bad for the kids who work for that manager because she isn't a pleasant person.
Have been here every year for 10 plus years great staff.the owners are very nice. A block away from the board walk. Lots of stuff to do in walking distance.
What a wonderful stay at the Brittany! Clean, spacious, and the pool is fun with a great vibe! You cannot beat the location! Sofia and her team are gracious hosts, warm, welcoming and genuinely care about their clients!
