El Coronado Resort receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its prime beachfront location, friendly staff, and well-maintained pool area. However, recurring concerns include inconsistent room cleanliness, outdated room amenities, and issues with accessibility, particularly regarding pool and deck access for guests with mobility limitations. Recent issues with check-in processes and unexpected charges have also been noted.
We had a spectacular time… customer service A+++…..Ava, Janna & Anis in the restaurant were warm, professional & always greeted us with a smile! This hotel was very accommodating with all requests. Parking is a little tricky but worth it. Randy was awesome & went the extra mile.
I make reservations and they canceled without calling me. They said they sent me an email and when they check, they sent to a wrong address. I got there with my family so I need a room. They didn’t gave me the same rate of my original reservation, they charged double of the original fare. Also, they provided with a smaller room. I will not go again. There were kids running and shouting after midnight in the hallway.
Upon check-in they asked for my license plate number so after filling out the forms I said I was going to get it and come back in a minute. When I returned the girl was already helping another customer and asked me what my name was as if she didn't remember me. There was no "privacy please" tag in the room so we walked to the lobby and asked the lady behind the counter for the tag, she didn't have one but assured us that our room won't be cleaned, I also spoke the cleaners on our floor about it directly as well. When we returned in the afternoon guess what, they accessed our room without permission. They closed the little arcade at 8pm over memorial weekend, strange. There was no gym despite booking.com showing photos. The front desk saff was rude, didn't want to be bothered with anything. Definitely won't be coming back.
Room view was excellent and the room was spacious with 2 queen beds. The only issue was that the beds didn’t have comforters, and they only had one extra available at night. We managed because there were only 2 of us, but I’m not sure what would have happened if there were 4 guests. Very disappointed with the breakfast confusion and staff communication. During check-in, I was told we could pay $10 per person for breakfast, but the next morning another staff member said there was no such option and didn’t seem to believe what we were told. She mentioned there was no note left by the previous receptionist, so they couldn’t honor it. The miscommunication and attitude from the staff were disappointing.
Nice location. Rooms are adequate for a beach vacation. However, the hotel has no heating system. We're here in mid May, unfortunately it's cooler than normal outside (about 60°) and about that in the room. Disappointed we were not informed and would have not booked.
after an exhaustive search last summer I finally booked a stay at the el coronado for myself and my teenage son ... I had to cancel reservations at two other locations due to issues with accessibility...I utilize both a rollating walker and a mobility scooter so prior to booking at the el coronado I "studied" the website floor plan and made MULTIPLE calls to the front desk to be assured that the room layout would meet my needs...thankfully there were no real issues with the room but imagine my surprise when I made my way outside to the beautiful pool area I had seen in the photos only to be met by sets of stairs on all sides! ... in the year 2025 why would a hotel/condominium in a vacation town not be ADA-compliant?? ... with all the amenities offered including cabanas and hot tubs the cost to ramp one corner would be minimal ... and in all my phone calls discussing my specific needs not once did a front desk representative mention that the pool and decks were completely inaccessible....I was forced to spend my vacation monitoring my son in the pool from the balcony of our room...my vacation was such a disappointment because of the lack of accessibility to the pool and decks (as well as the gift shop which is also inaccessible!)....I spent a great deal of money on this vacation and to be denied use of all the property's amenities was not only upsetting to me and my son but it it a form of discrimination to someone who has mobility issues....how about thinking about doing what is right and make some changes... {I attempted 3x to speak w/ the manager while there who was conveniently always "on his way to a meeting" (he even walked right past me twice)...he could not even give me two minutes of his time!....}
The service and location of this hotel are superb. Located in a quieter section of Wildwood Kruse. We enjoyed a two nights stay in a beachfront room. During the week in September, the rooms were very affordable. Breakfast at the hotel was tasty in the newly renovated dining area. This location offered great access to exploring Wildwood and Cape May. It’s also very easy just to walk down to the beach and enjoy the location if you don’t feel like going anywhere. Everything was clean and the amenities are very comfortable. We look forward to returning!
Overall the hotel was very clean and a nice place. Our main issues were the TV, which was horrible, few channels and basically antenna channels. There was a coffee maker in the room but coffee. The balcony window and others were terribly dirty. One weird issue was the front desk women registering on the 24th was outside across the street from the hotel that night yelling to a person on the floor above us, we were on our balcony as well, and thought she was yelling to us. She was very, very rude saying "there was absolutely NO smoking on the property and that she told him the same thing yesterday" The entire side of the hotel could hear her yelling at him from the street. I'm sure she could have handled this more professionally.
We were met by a rude front desk check in. The room was nice. The carpets could’ve been cleaner. The TV didn’t work “ because it was raining” so we couldn’t get a good picture. No internet to the TV so couldn’t even stream our own Netflix. When I told the same girl that checked us in, when leaving her response was to bring it to the manager, gave me my receipt and said “ have a nice day”, dismissing me. Great view of the ocean which saved the whole stay. Not sure we’ll be back.
The hotel and the stay was probably the best thing I’ve ever experienced. The hotel was right next to the beach and was literally a minutes walk away. The hotel also had a hot tub, 9 foot pool, 3 foot pool, and a 1 foot pool for the kids. I went with my brother, mom, and dad. The rooms were big and there was 2 queen sized beds and a pull out bed. The room was nicely cleaned and had a kitchen with utensils and plates along with it. There was also 2 tv. One bed was by the door and the other was in a room. The room itself was pretty cozy and nice. We were on the second floor so the balcony view want that good for us but if you were on the third floor or higher, you’d have the best view. Although the price, it was definitely worth it!! But, the only problem was that the diner inside the hotel wasn’t a part of your plan when booking the hotel…
