Crystal Beach Motor Inn receives mixed reviews, with a strong emphasis on its excellent location and convenience to the beach and boardwalk. However, recent feedback highlights significant issues related to inconsistent service, cleanliness concerns, and a disruptive management experience. While some guests appreciate the staff's friendliness and nightly cleaning, others report problems with responsiveness, maintenance, and ultimately, a negative and unprofessional interaction with the front desk manager.

We’ve been coming to this place for several years. Always clean safe intimate with a private clean salt water heated pool. They are a block away from the beach, which is lovely. They’re at the beginning of the boardwalk in Wildwood Crest really nice area right across the street from a park. Many parks around us walking distance for kids bike rentals street parking hotel parking can’t go wrong with this spot!

We booked a room wanting a close location to the beach. The hotel is located in the perfect location. We walked to the beach, boardwalk, and restaurants many times. The hotel is centrally located. That was great. We got to the hotel and we checked in. We were told that the elevator was not working. In the morning we ran out of toliet paper. We called the front desk, Sue said the cleaning service should have left two rolls. We told her we had none left. Sue the manager said we would have a roll brought up. We waited and Sue did not come. We called the front desk again to be told room serviced doesn't get in until 830 so finally we had family that was staying in the same hotel , so our family gave us an extra roll from her room. The maid service , missed giving us wash clothes, dish towels, dish cloths, we let it go. The last night we spent , we again called to ask for toliet paper, the manager Sue told us the cleaning service was gone for the day and asked us to wait until morning. We explained to her we had none and she said she get us some in about 30 minutes. We explained we were getting ready to go see the fireworks and she could leave it on the chair near the door. She said she had medical condition she can't climb stairs to do that. She said we can come down to the office and get it in about 30 minutes, we were in the middle of talking and Sue hung up on us. We ended up going to a hotel next to us to ask for toiletpaper. The people who gave us the toliet paper in the other hotel said that they help Sue sometimes and Sue said she left us toilet paper in the closet for us. So we walked around looking to see where this closet was. When we couldn't find the toilet paper in the closet, the hotel we were at Park Lane gave us some toilet paper. When we went to leave in the morning, there was no one there to check out. We called Sue and we went straight to voicemail. So we called restricted and 2 seconds later she answered with Hello thank you for calling Crystal Beach motel, like she had blocked us, so we said that we where leaving, she told us where to put the keys, we video taped us putting the keys in the box, then we talked about Sue hanging up on us. She came right out of the office, said she didnt hang up on us her phone blocked out , she didnt block us , and to just leave and never come back to her hotel. We said we would not and we will write a review, she said I have you on video , which is fine, we didn't do anything wrong. She said she has a medical condition. Which I totally understand. I am a human being and I have compassion for people. But I feel there is a way to treat people, especially when you have a business. If she had said I have a medical problem, unfortunately I can not bring you toliet paper ect. Can you please come down and get some, or you may have to wait a while. Sure I am fine with that, however to hang up and block us is totally unacceptable. I feel its not a very good business practice. I especially feel like telling someone never to come back to her hotel when all we asked for is toliet paper is unprofessional. Word of mouth goes far. We had family members, and friends staying at the hotel. So this will be the last time, we will not stay there but anytime people ask about our stay at The Crystal Beach Motor Inn I will surely steer them clear of this place. We had 5 people in our party, we were not given enough utensils in the kitchen for all to eat, The kitchen is stocked with bare minimum. The room itself, we made due with. But again l think the very best part of the Crystal Beach Motor Inn is the location. We were in room 302.

Immediately they gave us a room with a better view as we came during off-season, with no charge! Room service was friendly and organized. The maintenance people were very kind as well! Sue at the front was great; extremely personable and you can tell she cares a lot about making sure you have a great experience. Would book again!

Great location! Clean! Book The Weeknd last minute. Just a few blocks from the start of the boardwalk in the crest. So convenient to everything, we walked everywhere! Very Clean room! Our room, (2 double beds) was small but that is all my bestie & I needed for a weekend spent in the crest. We did have an ocean view room which was really nice. Quite-peaceful location! The owner, Sue-SHUSSSH!), was cool and allowed us to check in couple hours early. Always had a parking spot. Room was a little stuffy when we first arrived, turned AC on and it cooled off very quickly. Double bed was comfortable. Beautiful bathroom. Nice pool area. Not a large pool, however, big enough, 8ft deep & very clean. Had a great stay! Highly recommend!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! These people are very rude and discriminatory. My cousin and her baby got a room for 1 night here yesterday and I was in the area for a work picnic and stopped by to see the baby and swim with her for an hour. The motel staff stalked and harassed my cousin and made her pay $20 because I swam in their pool, stating they “saw me on the camera”. There were no rules posted anywhere stating guests weren’t allowed. I was there for about 1-2 hours. No more than 2 hours tops and I know this because I parked at the meters across the street at the fence next to the baseball field. Never have I heard of this “policy” at any motel in Wildwood in my whole life of coming down here. I feel like they were judging my cousin because she is a young mom and they were trying to rip her off. They tried to get extra money out of my cousin and continuously harassed her. The owner wanted my cousin to pay $40 for my boyfriend and I to hang out with them at their motel room for a little bit. We were never trying to sneak in and stay overnight or whatever the lady at the front desk was thinking. You can talk because I didn’t bring any large bags or anything in, just a bag to change clothes. Then, the next morning they tried to actually charge my cousin the $40 as if we stayed over. It just shows that this place is all about money. It’s very creepy that they were stalking her like this. This is predatory behavior and I highly don’t recommend staying here unless you want to be stalked and harassed and questioned during your stay. The staff was very unprofessional and had no right to act like this at all. We were highly respectful and mannerly and did not cause any issues in the 2 freaking hours we were there so I’m confused as to why the staff singled out my cousin and decided to make an issue that I got changed out of my bathing suit and into dry clothes in her hotel room. Absolutely insane and absurd. I try to understand and make reason in my mind why people act like this but I truly cannot see their side of this issue. At the end of the day this was a Karen situation and there’s no other way of putting it. Very disappointing that people don’t know how to act.

BEWARE IF YOU ARE OVER 6' TALL! We originally booked a "pool view, ocean-view" room with this inn from Sunday, Aug 7 to Thursday, Aug. 11 but checked out today instead. When we arrived Sunday night, we were disappointed at how small the beds were, how cramped and humid the room was and the fact that we couldn't see the ocean from our room at all. We put in a complaint on Monday with a lady at the front desk about the bed size and the conditions of the room. She said that she would let Sue know, and that we would be notified if any bigger rooms opened up so that we could switch to one. We also spoke to Sue more than once, and she said the same thing, that she would let us know when a larger room opened up. After enduring 2 more painful and uncomfortable nights in a non-ventilated, damp and humid room, my family also caught COVID. We came to Sue again to ask if she had any larger rooms so that we could separate, to which she replied "Well if you had come 15 minutes ago I would've had one, but I just booked it to someone." Which was weird, because we had asked for a bigger room more than once since Monday, and we were supposed to be told when one became available. We said that we would check out then, but she told us to wait for her to see if she could find another room somewhere. After waiting a long time, my family decided to start packing up to end our stay for safety precautions. It wasn't until Sue saw us packing our car that she said "Oh, I found another room across the street where you guys can stay." We told her that we were going to check out instead because we had waited for her for so long, and when we asked for a refund for the night because it was no longer safe for us to stay in the room and we needed to find lodging elsewhere, we were refused. When we asked to contact the owner regarding our complaint, Sue wouldn't provide any contact info (hm, I wonder who the owner is...). She also got upset because we were checking out at 6:30, meanwhile the only reason we left so late is because we waited on her. We have a lot of respect for and aim to support small businesses but this didn't work out.

Stayed several days and loved it. Staff goes above and beyond to make your vacation accommodations stress free and enjoyable. Nice pools that are not over crowded. Rooms are cleaned daily with mop and vacuum, beach is a bear. Everything is wiped and washed, rooms are organized back to perfection. Minutes from boardwalk and the beach is at the end of the Street. Visit and you won't regret.
