The Mahalo Diamond Beach consistently receives high praise for its exceptional service, cleanliness, and beautiful ocean views, particularly from families and those attending events like the Barefoot Country Music Festival. While some guests have noted minor issues with temperature control and occasional staffing levels, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive and considered a premium beach getaway.
Introduction: I recently spent two unforgettable nights at The Mahalo in Diamond Beach, and it was truly phenomenal. Room: Our room, situated on the 4th floor, offered a breathtaking ocean view that was absolutely beautiful. The room itself was impeccably clean, and the requested turn-down service for the sofa bed was promptly provided. Amenities: The beach experience was top-notch. There was an ample supply of towels - you could get as many as you'd like. The beach chairs were plentiful and incredibly comfortable, reclining all the way back for ultimate relaxation. Service: The service at The Mahalo was nothing short of phenomenal. From the turn-down service to the attentive beach staff, every interaction exceeded expectations. Pros: - Stunning ocean views from the 4th floor - Exceptionally clean rooms - Outstanding service - Abundant, high-quality beach amenities - Superior experience compared to other local resorts - The location is close to fine dining restaurants in Cape May, NJ Conclusion: The Mahalo offers a truly exceptional beach getaway. It's a significant step above other local options, providing comfort, cleanliness, and service that go above and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone looking for a premium beach experience.
Been going to Mahalo Diamond since 2022 - always clean, always convenient, always comfortable. Shoutout to Erica and her colleagues at the front desk for being so welcoming and making us feel at home. Housekeeping team also very quick and efficient! Looking forward to our next mahalo vacation.
First night and feel like I was duped into staying here by fake good reviews. Dirty. Horrible parking. Freezing rooms. Essentially a crappy hotel with a nice paint job that’s quickly fading. Not near as nice as the pictures portray. WAYYY overpriced for what this hotel is. Update: if you want to do laundry— you only have to go two hotels over! No laundry at Mahalo… honestly. Stay ANYWHERE else. Motel 6 even
My family and I stayed at the Maholo Hotel for the Barefoot Country Music Festival, we had an awesome experience. The rooms are large and super clean. The outdoor lounge area is amazing, perfect for my older (20/teen) daughter’s. We loved the pool area and the beach, they provide comfortable beach chairs as well. The shuttle service to the concert was a major perk! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The Maholo Hotel at Diamond Beach was perfect for my family of 6, I’m looking forward to staying again for BCMF 2026. ?
Great stay! Wildwood crest is where it’s at! We had a corner room on the 5th floor, which was basically oceanfront. Rooms huge for a family of 4! Loved the suite aspect. Beds were comfy and resort was quiet and clean. Beach is beautiful and the sand is so soft and white. All staff were accommodating and polite. The only negative is that you can notice that the pool needs updated. Still, pool was clean and water was warm. I don’t usually write reviews and we have pretty high standards We were content and happy here!
We had two rooms over Barefoot country music fest weekend. We’ve stayed at other Icona properties and this was our first at Mahalo. The room set up is amazing. Two queen beds and a spacious sitting area with a pull out bed in the couch. Colleen, the manager, couldn’t have been nicer and her team was exceptional. We already booked for next year!
The hotel exceeded our expectations. Group booking manager, Mary, helped us find a way to accommodate a party of 12 boosting our experience pre-arrival. Huge shout out! Adrianna and Randy at the front desk were very helpful across the 4-5 day stay. They remembered names of our guests and clearly communicated when packages arrived.
The location was beautiful. It was quiet. It was down at the crest end of Wildwood. The rooms were very clean. They had bicycles. The pool was nice even though it’s cold however, they did not have telephones in the room. We were not able to control the air, so it was very cold at timesand it’s only two people working in the hotel at all times so service was OK but they were nice. I definitely stayed there again.
We stayed at this property over the past weekend and were very impressed with several aspects of our stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean, well laid out, and nicely furnished. The front desk staff were also very friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent and made getting around very convenient. However, we did encounter a significant issue with the temperature in our rooms (we had two). Upon check-in, both rooms were extremely cold—around 60–61 degrees. We assumed the heat had simply been turned off, so we adjusted the thermostat to 70 and went out to dinner. When we returned, the rooms were even colder—down to 59 degrees. This was especially difficult for my 82-year-old mother-in-law, who was quite uncomfortable. I called for service and was told someone would be sent up, but after nearly an hour of waiting with no response, I went to the front desk myself. It was then I was informed—surprisingly—that the rooms do not have heat. The young woman at the front desk was very kind, helpful, and apologetic. She quickly provided us with space heaters for both rooms, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, one of the heaters ended up tripping the circuit breaker, requiring a trip back to the lobby and assistance from maintenance. While the space heaters did eventually help, the overall situation was inconvenient and disappointing—especially for a hotel of this quality. We hope this feedback is helpful in addressing the heating issue for future guests.
Very nice place, however the lack of staff during the evening hours was a bit alarming. Calling the desk 3 times only to go downstairs and find a sign saying " see you in the morning" was to say the least ( ODD). We chose this location to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Overall a very nice stay except for the one night when, ironically - a wedding party after party decided to stay up with loud drunken discussions until 2AM. I wasn't happy about that at all. I really did like the hotel and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely stay there again ( provided no wedding parties were booked at the same time in a 3 block radius) ? we already miss Maui ? he was awesome.
