I’m surprised by all of the flawless reviews, and I really hope my honest feedback is helpful! Nice property, but not worth the price for us. The Hen Houses have a lot going for them: newer construction, a lovely saltwater pool (small but very nice), comfortable beds, and a great location within walking distance of MudHen Brewing, Poppi’s, and the boardwalk. The staff were also responsive and helpful. Unfortunately, there were some significant drawbacks. The property is on a very busy street, and loud mufflers and thumping bass were frequently audible at night. White noise couldn’t drown it out, which was especially frustrating with kids. The pillows were also quite lumpy. Cleanliness was another issue. The floors were dirty enough that the bottoms of our feet were noticeably dirty. After housekeeping cleaned them, the floors became extremely slippery, and we had to ask them to come back because we were concerned about someone falling on the stairs. Overall, we liked the property and location, but at around $1,000/night, we expected considerably more in terms of cleanliness, quiet, and overall quality.

While the place is nice the Noise is unbearable. You get no sleep. Someone threw a huge party in one of the homes. Not sure if this is monitored. They had a loud sound system and strobe lights and had so many guests coning in and out (safety issues with children). Other than that and the street noise its okay. Also I have called the main phone number a few times and the girl that answers always sounds like she doesn't want to be bothered.

If you’re looking for a private retreat right in the lively heart of Wildwood, New Jersey, the Henhouses is the perfect place. This small, well-gated community gives you the absolute comfort of home combined with thoughtful hotel-style amenities, all while respecting your privacy and space. We loved every minute of our stay and will absolutely be back. The townhouses are extremely clean, meticulously maintained, and feel brand new. From the moment you walk in, you notice the quality: state-of-the-art plumbing and fixtures, top-of-the-line mattresses that are honestly more comfortable than any hotel we’ve ever stayed at (seriously, they must have spared no expense), and a layout that feels spacious and comforting. We were just two people, but the place comfortably sleeps six. It turned out to be the ideal size for us as it was cozy enough to feel intimate but with plenty of room to spread out. The amenities go way beyond the basics. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and everything you need to cook real meals and entertain. There are games to play, an amazing washer and dryer (we happily did a load every day and packed way lighter because of it), and each unit comes with its own beach chairs and umbrella. The cruiser bikes for the boardwalk are always available. Everyone gets two dedicated parking spaces, and the whole property is so peaceful, no one bothers you at all. We value privacy, and the gated setup here delivers it perfectly while still being in the middle of everything. You get the perks of a resort (without mandatory daily service) but the freedom of a private home. We appreciated the option for housekeeping or daily towel service if we wanted it, but it was nice to opt out and just enjoy the space on our own schedule. When we needed a quick assist with the keyless entry, the response was immediate and friendly. Location is unbeatable. Wildwood Beach is just a two-block walk away. We’re big fans of Cape May’s vibe, but many places there feel rundown with poor plumbing and dated reviews lately. Here, everything is updated, fresh, and well-kept. You’re also within a block of the best breakfast spots in Wildwood, Uncle Billy’s and Marvis Diner (Marvis is literally right next door). There are cool little thrift shops around the corner too, making it easy to wander and explore without ever needing a car. You can completely avoid parking to go to Adventure Pier in the Boardwalk if you don’t mind walking a few blocks. Check-in and check-out are a breeze via your phone, no lines, no hassle, just convenience. We couldn’t recommend The Henhouses more highly. Whether you’re a couple, family, or group, this place nails the balance of privacy, comfort, luxury touches, and location. Everything feels thoughtfully designed for a relaxing, fun vacation. We’ll be returning again and again! Highly recommend!

I must say, I truly love the hen house community they have carefully created. It has convenience of a hotel with the privacy of a house rental. The house was beautiful, modern and CLEAN. It was quiet and provided comfort like no other place I have stayed to-date in Wildwood. The customer service of the staff was also very responsive and kind. There was just one flaw, but this may not matter to others. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are joined by a jack and jill bathroom. If you have kids or another guest in the 2nd bedroom, whenever someone uses the bathroom at night, it disturbs the others as the barn doors do not provide privacy with the large gaps above, below and on both sides of the doors. The lack of quiet and privacy between the bedrooms just won't work for us. If this is not a concern for you and your family, then I definitely recommend this place. I really was a wonderful experience otherwise.

Rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed. Great amenities too. Only downside is the music playing outside the houses at designated times of the day.

We are a family of 4 and stayed in the Holly Beach house and couldn’t have been happier. We had such a great experience. The house was beautiful, had everything you needed and more, was immaculately clean, and was so comfortable. The amenities are fantastic. The pool was clean, warm and such a nice area to hang out in. Tons of restaurants around and love that most offer free delivery. It really acts as the equivalent of room service. They even offer poolside drinks which is super cool and convenient. Just a really great, well thought-out, meticulously kept micro resort. We already booked our next stay.

A truly wonderful stay We recently stayed at The Henhouses and had a fantastic experience. From check-in to check-out, the entire operation is smooth, thoughtful, and clearly guest-focused. A perfect example of their service happened right as we arrived. A gentleman from the staff immediately noticed us with our luggage and brought over a cart. He helped us load everything and insisted on taking it to our unit for us. When we tried to tip him for his help, he smiled and declined, saying it was all part of the service. It was a genuine and welcoming first impression. The property itself is packed with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed the little details that make a difference: · Pool towels were plentiful and easy to grab, so we never had to worry about bringing our own. · The complimentary bikes were a great way to explore the area. · Having a private grill at our unit was awesome for a casual dinner night. · The outdoor games like cornhole and giant Jenga were a fun way to spend the afternoon. Most impressively, the entire staff was consistently attentive and professional. Any request we had, whether it was for a dinner recommendation or an extra amenity, was handled quickly and cheerfully, no matter the time of day. They are clearly on top of things and take pride in what they do. We had a really great time and would not hesitate to return or recommend The Henhouses to anyone. It’s a well-run, comfortable, and hospitable place.

This is the ultimate stay! The grounds are beautiful and secluded with private parking and a privacy fence all around with beautifully greens. Each house is spacious, modern and so many amenities!! Beach gear, grills, fire pit and the outdoor salt water pool is such a nice perk. I would definitely recommend a stay and home to be back soon!

One of the best shore properties we've ever stayed at. Everything was new, clean and made sense. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could ever need, including tons of spices. Their sister restaurants were next door and great as well. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.
