The Wildwood Inn is an older travelodge property located near the boardwalk and convention center, offering a convenient base for exploring Wildwood. However, recent reviews highlight significant cleanliness and maintenance concerns, alongside some positive experiences regarding staff friendliness and location. Overall, the property shows mixed signs of upkeep and guest satisfaction.

The bathroom was recently refurbished making the room decent. It is an old facility with some character but not much for amenities. The walls are thick and so it wasn't too noisy except for the window air conditioner.

Before you consider all the negative reviews left by "Karen" understand that this is a very old building. If your room is on the 4th floor, you're gonna get a workout. There is a fridge in our room but no microwave, you can however find one in the lounge on the 2nd floor where the pool table & ice machine are located. There is no coffee maker but you can always get fresh coffee in the lobby. Our room is small but clean, the bed is comfortable & the bathroom is new. The only issue is the toilet runs constantly, but we cant hear it if we keep the door shut.

Room: Disappointing at best. Exterior door entrances(motel style. Not hotel style) Smelled funny. Room was not clean. The dresser/TV stand was about 6 inches away from the wall and when I pushed it back to where it belonged I got what would probably equate as a bowl full of fruity pebbles from underneath it. It appeared as though it was pulled out purposely to cover the filth. The bed has both human and dog hair all over the top(thankful we brought our own pillows out of habit because that is where the hair was). The floor felt gritty and dirty. The window curtain leaves about a 1 inch gap above the air conditioner where you could see in from the exterior walkway. The walls were peeling in several places and there was a gap under one corner of the door. The exhaust in the bathroom was ineffective and the shower is built so the water comes out from between the door and glass panel and water covers the floor. The towels smelled like dog. It was a VERY disappointing stay. Service: The front desk was kind and quick to check us in. They offer parking IF there is a space available (so get there early if you need parking). We were able to squeeze our car into a small opening and leave it there for the weekend so it was a success for us but we watched a lot of others who were not so lucky. Location: Within a 5 min steady walk(8-10 min slow walk) to Convention Center Boardwalk entrance, local restaurants and dollar store. Local fast foods deliver so that was helpful for us once while staying.

Pros: hotel was very close to the boardwalk and surrounding restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful if needed. Parking was tight but there was always space to park. Family Dollar store for any small necessities is literally around the corner. Cons: The rooms are very small with almost no room to walk around the bed. The pictures online do not match the actual room. The window air-conditioning units are extremely loud. Room condition and cleanliness was an issue. There are no dressers or anywhere to hang up any clothes. Had to put suitcase on top of mini fridge as there is no room even on the floor. Although they have no smoking signs up most hallways smell like weed. Noise from adjoining room and above was extremely loud and disturbing. For the amount of money that was charged there are multiple oceanfront hotels that were cheaper. There’s no breakfast only coffee. Will not be staying here in the future.

In our room on the 4th floor, the maid didn't do a thorough job. There was an old pizza crust or whatever it was and a small toy under one of the beds, and a dust bunny or whatever it was, under the other bed. We had to go downstairs to complain about it, as there was no phone in that room. We complained about it and thought that the maid would remove them, but they weren't ever removed. There were no wash cloths, just hand towels and bath towels! There was hair on the shower walls and on one of the shelves in the shower. The room was overcrowded with furniture. The sofa bed was pushed up against the closet door, so you couldn't even use the closet. We had to move the dresser in order to be able to even sit on the sofa or use the sofa bed, and the tv was at too bad of an angle to be able to watch tv from the sofa! The door to the room couldn't be fully opened because the sofa was sticking out too far! There was no room for extra toiletries near the bathroom sink. There was room for a little table next to the bathroom sink, but there was no table there. There were slanted ceilings, so you had to be careful not to bonk your head. The screen in the window wasn't on correctly, so there was a big gap between the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the window frame, not to mention the big hole in the screen, so we couldn't open it, as bugs could have easily gotten in. The air conditioner was pretty noisy too. There were kids playing loudly outside our window in the yard next to our motel and some of the motel guests were very loud. There were kids running in the hallways unattended, people slamming doors, and people talking loudly. We could hear voices through the thin walls in our 4th floor bathroom and one door down from our room on the 2nd floor, we could hear some woman shouting and swearing at her child from inside their room! We had booked two rooms through Expedia. For some reason, they gave us rooms on two different floors. One room was on the 4th floor and the other one was on the 2nd floor! The room on the 2nd floor was much smaller, no door on the freezer in the mini fridge, and the tv was hard to operate. They did end up helping to fix the tv when we asked, but no one was around to answer the phone when we first called down for help. A lot of the time, there was no one at the front desk when we'd walk by. There was a door always left open on the 2nd floor of the hallway that led to a steep set of stairs with no railing. Anyone, especially with kids running around, could have easily fallen down those steps and got seriously injured. That is a law suit waiting to happen! The hallways were super hot as there was no central air and we had to climb several flights of stairs in the intense heat with heavy luggage, as there were no elevators (even though they recently renovated the place)! There were spilt Cheetoz on the landing of the stairs and they were not cleaned up until a day or so later. The parking lot was way too small! I'm not sure how they even fit all of their guests! They should have had a room number painted on each parrking spot. It was very hard to pull our van in and out of the lot without hitting another car, especially since we had a scooter carrier on the back of it. The motel doors were often left open, which was not only a security issue, but the bugs were getting in! The upside of our stay was that the staff were kind, the beds were comfy (though there was no bedspread on them), and it was just 3 blocks from the boardwalk (right near the convention center). Expedia tried to over charge us by almost $100, but the staff there issued us a credit for it and was going to handle the issue with Expedia themselves. Expedia was at fault for that.

Kiran and the rest of the staff were all outstanding. We were a little early for check in but they immediately said if the room was ready we were welcome to check in then. It wasn’t, but they let us park and use then pool if we liked. When the check in time came, they then offered us a free upgrade to the suite. We’ve got 3 kids and this made things so much easier. The suite was very spacious with 2 king sized beds in 2 separate rooms, a full kitchen, tv, good shower pressure, and an open floor plan. We were very happy with the experience we had with both the room and the staff. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Let’s start with the good: good location. As for the rest: this is an older building which is fine but they have done little to no upkeep on it. All of the doors were kept open and all of the windows were open with no screens, letting bugs get in. The front desk was rarely manned and the computer screen was always on, sometimes with ***people’s personal information viewable***. There is no elevator and no luggage carts. Nothing about this hotel is ADA acceptable. The signs throughout the hotel make it feel like you’re unsafe and that it is just a place for people to party and not have a family vacation. When we opened the door to the room, we couldn’t open the door more than half way because the bed was behind the door. I had to turn our luggage sideways to roll it in. There was an air conditioner in the room but it couldn’t keep up and it was loud. The room was small, cramped, and felt like it was supposed to only have one bed in it. The bathroom was dirty and had obvious signs of water leakage. The shower drained so slowly we had to space out showers by an hour and even then we were standing in water from the last person. This is not an issue of being an old building… we’ve stayed in plenty of historic buildings (see any of the National Parks lodges or any of the B&Bs/hotels on Mackinac Island). This is lack of investment in your property while also “milking it” for every last cent. lenty of historic buildings (see any of the National Parks lodges or any of the B&Bs/hotels on Mackinac Island). This is lack of investment in your property while also “milking it” for every last cent.

I had extremely high hopes for this hotel based off the photos given & boy was I WRONG about this one. Entering the lobby MUSK just hits you in the face. The doors remained open & the humidity itself was unsettling. The carpets were damp and the floors were slippery. Going up to the second floor, my son was so excited for the pool table until we saw the condition it was in AND the room it was located in. It was by far the most disgusting and unsanitary thing. There were open holes in the wall, mold & water leaks. There is no way I would ever pay to stay here again unless they remodeled the entire property. There was NO central air system. When we got in our room it was humid & SO hot. It took about 2 hours for the window unit to cool down our room. I gave it a 1 star because of the location & the front desk girl was sweet but as far as the condition of the property it’s a big no & very disappointing. Enjoy the pictures.

Okay, let's start. Don't be fooled by the name, please. We booked hotel Friday into Sunday through hotels.com As per website, we chose pay at property and they tried to charge the card 2 days prior to our arrival and kept calling that the card is declined, that's when we had hotels.com involved. Rooms are EXTREMELY SMALL, we had a King Suite - you open the door, hit the night table right away. There's a small additional room with a sofa and WE DIDN'T HAVE REMOTE CONTROL for a TV. Everything smells like bleach as well and even though they clean the room, wear socks because the floors still not clean. Oh, and hair dryer? Nope, didn't hear about that!! It wasn't there! PARKING IS HORRIBLE!!! They have about 70 rooms I would say, and there's like mayb 10-15 spots???!!! Person greeting you - um, y'all need to work on your hospitality. So, sum it up - almost $1k stay at this - NOT WORTH IT! Location is good, close to the beach like we needed for an event.

Overall vibe was a little sketch. Room definitely seemed to be for 1 bed but had 2. There was a spot for the mini fridge but looked like someone took it out. Pool table was nice. The actual pool was sadly getting drained and then refilled with one hose whilst we were there. But it worked. Not far from the beach at all. Good food near by. Kiran at the counter was super friendly.
