The Tangiers Motel is a dated property offering reasonably priced accommodations close to the beach, as highlighted by several recent reviews. While some guests appreciate its affordability and convenient location, recurring concerns revolve around cleanliness, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service. Overall, the property seems to be experiencing significant quality control issues impacting the guest experience.
Doo Wop dated, but clean inside and out. Pool is always kept clean and warm. The people in the front office are very polite and helpful. Reasonably priced for a great vacation.
Room is dated. Beds were hard. Bathroom dated. Location to beach and other spots is good. Late September visit. Not noisy at all.
We stayed one night for a quick getaway. The hotel rooms are dated but very clean. We didn't use it but the pool area looked very nice with a grilling area and outdoor games. I found the beds to be very hard and uncomfortable but my husband was fine. Close to the beach and walkable to the boardwalk.
Had to rush through taking a shower so as not to run out of warm water. Lasted only minutes. A nice shower is pretty important at the shore. Mattress is hard. Location is great. Very close to the beach. TV was good. It is outdated but it’s a shore motel so it’s not a big deal. A good nights sleep on a nice mattress and hot shower are important to me so it fell short there. The AC worked great. I would suggest you either supply a little bottle of shampoo and did not seem to have any in the gift shop? Husband had to drive to a nearby store to buy some.
I have never left a review let alone a bad one. I do not recommend this hotel. It is very outdated with rust and dirt all around the door. The bathroom was full of rust and mildew. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and they did send in the maintenance person to fix it however he was very nasty and seemed bothered. The nicest part of our stay was the size of the pool and kiddie pool
Thank you! We always stay in the crest but never stayed here before. Needed something affordable for 2 nights with the family. We had a great time. Clean room, cold room, and we had a lot of fun in the pool. Everyone was nice and also gave us our privacy. Would def stay here again. I booked online months in advance without ever knowing anything about this place, it all worked out really good. Thanks again
One star is being kind, my family has been in the motel industry and this place was horrible. We travelled to Wildwood for a wedding and wanted a venue close to it. Room is outdated, paint chipping, small 1960's bathroom. 3 towels for 4 guests and when we asked for more towels they would only give us 2. Small soap, no shampoo. Parking lot tight. Not worth the amount we paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights. Staff rude, breakfast not good and slow service. Do not stay here.
I stayed here for one night with my husband and My 2 children and the price was 287.99 for a queen bed and a pull out sofa. We arrived to check in around 9:18pm and they closed the office at 9 so we were grateful the manager stayed to get us our keys we left him a $5 tip. When we arrived to the room the Oder of mildew hit us right in the face and we said “it’s just for one night”. When we went to pullout the sofa for the kids there was mice fecal matter. Too late to go to the office so we waited for the morning to see about getting a refund. Talked to the manager and he said he was sorry for the inconvenience and because I booked with booking.com I had to go through them and then they would talk to the manager and send me a email about the refund. They checked the room and told them everything was fine so we didn’t get a refund. Highly DONT RECOMMEND FOR ALMOST $300. KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE
This place is terrible. The 1st room they provided had broken AC unit and old gross carpet the room smelled so bad it was nauseating. Greatly appreciated the 2nd room however the shades don’t block any light and lights are on outdoors all night. 2nd the door had a Good crack in the framing we could see outside. 3rd NO blankets provided. When I asked for one I was told none available. What kinda hotel/motel doesn’t carry extra blankets. I was also told one would be delivered and it never was. Save your money and book elsewhere.
My family and I have stayed here two years in a row and feel like this will be our go-to spot for a while! They are a block and a half away from the beach which is GREAT, especially with kids and beach items. Both years, we were accommodated to have first floor rooms to make it easier with the kids. There is a pool, sun deck, and even a little breakfast & lunch restaurant attached for easy meals. They are clean and don’t smell like other musty motels along the shore!
