Wonderful, clean, retro feeling motel in the perfect location in the Wildwoods. Close enough to the action, but far enough away to have a nice relaxing stay. The pool is great and the vibes are immaculate. Will definitely stay again!

A five-star review for an over-the-top kitschy Doo Wop-style motel built in 1957? Heck yeah! No, it's not a 5-star hotel as you would describe a Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton. But when it comes to cleanliness, service, location, and perhaps most importantly to me -- nostalgic value -- the Caribbean Motel receives the highest of grades. Here's the backstory: Last month (6/1/2026) I thought I’d be impulsive and take an overnight trip to my happy place — the Wildwoods. The Wildwoods are famous for having the very best (and FREE) beaches on the East Coast, a 2 mile-long boardwalk that dates back to 1903, and the most kitschy of kitschy motels, complete with Doo Wop era decor that will forever keep this little island frozen in the 1950s. ??? No matter what generation you are, if you grew up coming to the Wildwoods, it is most likely your happy place, too. If you didn’t, you probably won’t get what all the hype is about. ? My dad just confirmed that our first trip to Wildwood was in 1980. And for every one of the last 46 summers — including during Covid — I have returned here, introducing my own family to the magic that is this very special part of the Jersey Shore. But there’s one motel that I’ve always wanted to stay at but never had the chance to. Until today. It’s the historic Caribbean Motel. ? Built in 1957 by Lou Morey (yes, those Morey's) and done up in full Doo Wop style, it still stands out today for its full-sized plastic palm trees, bright neon colors, a crescent-shaped pool, and a levitating ramp leading up to a common area lounge that’s like stepping back into time. It was every bit as wonderful as I knew it would be. Paul, the owner and his family were great hosts. And my room was cleaner and more comfortable than my own bedroom at home! I almost hate sharing this review as it's already hard enough to get a room here during peak season. But I'd be remiss not to celebrate the fact that it was saved from demolition in 2004 and has since been restored to its former glory. I highly recommend! ?

We had an exceptional stay at the Caribbean Motel in Wildwood over Fourth of July weekend! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The motel perfectly captures the nostalgic charm of the 1950s and 1960s with its beautifully maintained retro atmosphere. The vintage vibe is unique, fun, and adds so much character to the stay. What truly set this experience apart was the hospitality. The motel hosted a complimentary pizza party for all of the guests, complete with soft drinks and live music, creating a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that made the holiday weekend even more memorable. This was, without a doubt, the best motel experience we’ve had in Wildwood. The combination of outstanding customer service, incredible retro ambiance, and thoughtful guest appreciation made our stay unforgettable. We won’t stay anywhere else when we visit Wildwood again. Highly recommend the Caribbean Motel to anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay!

Such a cute place to stay and awesome staff. Stayed for a long weekend and had a blast. The vibes were incredible!! We will be back!

We had a great stay for this year's TROG. The staff was very nice. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We had more fun at the motel than the entire event up the beach. We will definitely be staying here again!!!

Dirtiest nastiest hotel bathroom I ever saw. Pictures speak 1000 words!! Didn’t notice until 6:30 am or Never would have stayed the night! Shower had BLACK MOLD all over it, water didn’t drain from last guest, absolutely Disgusting!! The air conditioner unit when turned on made my husband and I very congested and sneezing in middle of the night, probably has mold spores in it too. Never saw a hotel pool hang a sign that asks guests to shower before using, probably because nobody can use their moldy showers!! I woke my husband up at 6:30 after I saw the shower and we jumped in our clothes and Ran out of room and property. W I emailed the owner the photos and No Response!! I called Paul, the owner and he didn’t understand the problem and claimed he didn’t get my 2nd email either. Interesting because his wife sent me a confirmation on this same email and responded to a question prior to horrendous visit. The Board of Health has now been notified as well! $200 per night for this neon green nightmare!!

Super clean hotel very nice people but the beds omg to hard for us and the pillows bring your own feel like hospital pillows that way the 3 star on the room . Water is pressure great like really good . Pool super clean. Party tight if you have a truck like us F-150 make sure you have a corner spot they are bit bigger. Will ever go back yes .

Stayed here for the first time in July. Came right back in August. It’s such a cool place, very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced, close to the boardwalk and 1 block from the beach.

Great stay! Not only easy walk to beach, but TV and kitchen seems above standard for the area. Sheets and bed feel crisp and comfy. AC can really bring the chill, as outside have a oldies music for some good vibes. No issues with other guests and quiet. Parking spaces tight, not many amenities other than pool...but room works well and will be coming back.

My family of 4 had a great stay here! Rooms were very clean and we had enough room for everything. All of the staff was welcoming and kind. Other guests were very nice too. Relaxing atmosphere. Pool was clean and heated. Close to what we needed too. Definitely looking forward to returning again next year!
